Tuesday evening, the Copperas Cove ISD Board of Trustees unanimously selected Dr. Brent Hawkins as Lone Finalist for Superintendent of Schools.

Our school Counselor Mrs. Valdez (formerly Ms. Jacobs) won an innovative grant of $285 for our ES2S program so that they can create goodie bags for new students. These bags are given as a warm welcome to our school when ES2S members provide tours to new students.
Additionally, Mrs. Valdez and Ms. Pierce, our Behavior Specialist, also won an innovative grant of $6,400 for a book vending machine to serve as a positive incentive for students.
Lastly, Mrs. Bredwell, our Coordinator of Digital Learning, won an innovative grant of $4,800. This grant will launch a K-2 Robotics Club across the district and will impact all six elementary campuses and complete the current robotics pathway that will now begin in kindergarten and extend through 8th grade. The Digital Learning Team to train teachers on coding platforms and robotics, enabling educators to teach students essential coding skills and foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving. This program aims to inspire our youngest learners and help pave the way for future innovators.
Tuesday night, the CCISD Board of Trustees voted to approve the hiring of Carolyn Jackson as the new principal at House Creek Elementary, in addition to approving the expansion of a key R.I.S.E. Program partnership.

You are invited to our Winter Music Programs, December 17, 2024 located in the House Creek cafeteria. All Kindergarten at 5:00pm, the House Creek Choir at 6:30pm, and all First Grade at 6:00pm. Students should wear their favorite holiday outfits. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early and sit with your family until an announcement is made to come to the stage. House Creek Elementary recently held its first positive behavior activity of the year, where students got to choose between a Teacher vs. Student freeze tag game or dodgeball.

Ahead of Tuesday evening's regular Board of Trustees meeting, there will be a reception to thank outgoing board members Mrs. Inez Faison and Mrs. Ann Davis-Williams for their years of service to the students in CCISD.

CCISD will host its next Emergent Bilingual Program Cafe TOMORROW in the CCHS library. We hope to see you there!
Lil' Shopper's Shoppe will be returning soon. Students will be able to shop during the school day from Dec. 13th -19th and families will be able to come in Dec. 19th from 3:30pm-5:30pm. Purchase forms will be sent home by December 6th.
Move on Up! will be hosting a Christmas Market in the CCHS Cafeteria NEXT Saturday! Ornaments are $5 or less, and this event is cash only. All proceeds go to the participating work-based programs.
We hope you'll come see some of the amazing work our students are doing.
House Creek's Car Seat 101 parent training was held on November 7, 2024. The presenter Mr. Miceli, a certified technician, gave valuable information about car seat and booster seat safety, installation, and answered questions from parents.
Mrs. Lortz's students did book reviews and disguised their Turkey as one of the book characters.
House Creek Elementary invited Veteran parents and family members to attend our Veteran's Day Parade on November 12, 2024. After the parade parents were treated to a performance by the Choir.
