Our school librarian and the author of Goodnight Fort Hood

We are honored to welcome MyKala Guerrero, the author of Goodnight, Fort Hood, to our school for a special reading event with our students! MyKala wrote this heartfelt book to help children understand what it's like growing up as a military BRAT, a story inspired by her own experience as part of a military family.

During her visit, she read aloud to several classes, sparking meaningful conversations about family, service, and the unique lifestyle of military connected children. The students were captivated by her storytelling and inspired by her journey as a writer.

As a generous gesture, MyKala donated a copy of Goodnight, Fort Hood to our school library, ensuring that future students can continue to enjoy this touching tribute to Fort Hood and the families who call it home.

Thank you, MyKala for sharing your time, your story, and your heart with us!
