House Creek students teamed up with our Adopt-A-Unit partners from 1-82 Field Artillery to make a big difference through a small but powerful act, collecting aluminum pull tabs! Together, they gathered an impressive 12.67 pounds of pull tabs to support the Ronald McDonald House of Temple.
This effort was part of the Youth Environmental Ambassadors Program, which encourages students to take action for their community and the environment. Pull tabs, though tiny, hold significant value when recycled. The funds generated from these donations help offset expenses for the Ronald McDonald House, which provides comfort and care for families with hospitalized children.
Students learned that even the smallest items can make a difference. By bringing tabs from soda, soup, and other cans, and working alongside volunteers from 1-82 Field Artillery, they demonstration teamwork, compassion, and environmental responsibility.
House Creek Elementary students and 1-82 Field Artillery proved that when a community pulls together, amazing things happen!
Go Dawgs!
